LOS ANGELES — The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) issued the following statement regarding the nomination of John Trasviña to serve as Assistant Secretary of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development:
“NALEO commends President Obama for nominating John Trasviña to serve as Assistant Secretary
of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
His distinguished career promoting civil rights makes him exceptionally well qualified to lead the nation’s efforts to promote policies that ensure that all Americans have equal access to quality, affordable housing. We hope and expect that he will quickly be confirmed.
