NALEO PRAISES JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT


LOS ANGELES, CA
The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) issued the following statement regarding Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle's appointment of State Representative Pedro Colón to a Circuit Court judgeship:

“The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) applauds Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle for appointing State Representative Pedro Colón as a Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge.

NALEO congratulates Pedro Colon for this important appointment. His years of dedicated public service will serve him well in ensuring fairness and justive for all.

Previous to this appointment, Pedro Colon had been the only Latino elected official in the Wisconsin legislature. He joins the bench next Monday, September 20th for a term ending on July 11, 2011.

Mr. Colón was recently unanimously re-elected Treasurer of the NALEO Board of Directors."
